Seven Chakras of Human Body - Know The Importance of Your Spiritual Body

What Are The 7 Chakras?

Chakras are energy points in our spiritual body. The existence of seven chakras is an ancient belief that has been adopted by many cultures.

The word "chakra" is derived from the Sanskrit word "cakra" which means “wheel”, and the original concept of it is closely related to Vedic knowledge about consciousness, spirituality, and life-force.

The seven chakras that we know today are not necessarily confined to these traditional Indian ideas; they gradually spread into different regions throughout history.

1. Muladhara Chakra

This is the first chakra of our spiritual body. It is related to our survival instincts and is located at the base of the spine. It rules the physical body and relates to survival, security, and trust issues.

The Muladhara chakra is associated with people who are rooted in their foundations, have good instincts for survival, security, and trust issues.

When this chakra is blocked, it can result in laziness, attachment to material things, and a feeling of being stuck.

One way to start working on this area is by practicing some simple breathing exercises that focus on grounding your body and calming your emotions. A great place to start with would be closed eyes, deep breaths from the diaphragm, focusing on your navel point, and slowly releasing any tension from your body as you exhale.

2. Swadishthana Chakra

The same energy ascends to the second Chakra, which is placed behind the genitals, and emerges as procreation or creation — that is, any creative activity or sex urge.

When you're fascinated with sex, you can't think of anything innovative to do. You completely disregard the concept of creativity. Lust does not bother you when you are engaged in any creative work. As a result, the energy could develop as a procreative or creative urge.

You don't have to categorize the energy as 'good' or 'bad.' That's the way it is. The Water element is related to the second Chakra.

The same energy (Kundalini) is traveling through the nerve centers, as you can see. In Sanskrit, the word Kunda means "pot." The human body is like a pot, and the energy in this body is called the Kundalini.

3. Manipur Chakra

The Manipur Chakra is known as the secret of the seven chakras. The Manipur Chakra is an ancient Indian symbol that looks like a wheel with 8 spokes that represent the eight directions or transitional points between the three realms of existence and is also known as the wheel of life. It is a wheel of light that connects the body, mind, and soul.

It is based on Mudra and Tantric philosophy and it has been used for centuries by yogis and Buddhist monks to attain peace of mind and enlightenment. The Manipur Chakra is located in your spine and has eight points that can be activated to release your inner power. The Manipur Chakra was not only the most popular religious symbol in India but it became a popular tattoo trend in recent years.

4. Anahata Chakra

Anahata is the fourth chakra in the spiritual body. It lies just above the heart and is associated with love, compassion, and selfless action.'

The word Anahata comes from the Sanskrit word "Anahata," meaning "unhurt." This chakra is associated with feelings of love and compassion for oneself and others. Anahata also governs our sense of touch and may be called our "heart" chakra because it stimulates feelings of love in the heart region. The frequency of this chakra ranges from 330-336 Hz.

5. Vishuddhi Chakra

The most obvious place to start with the chakras is Vishuddhi. It is located just below the larynx, at the level of the throat, and it's made up of only one petal. It is located in the throat and it has control over communication, self-expression, and creativity. The Vishuddhi Chakra also represents the act of giving or receiving information.

The Vishuddhi Chakra is associated with Ajna (the third eye) chakra and presides over communication, creativity, and self-expression. It also governs what we take into our mind or give out there to other people or a group of people.

There are two major aspects that represent the Vishuddhi chakra:

Ishwara Pranidhana (letting go) - Control over one’s speech

Svadhyaya (self-study) - Control over one’s own reading

So what happens when the Vishuddhi chakra is not functioning properly?

A person can become very nervous and anxious, often worrying about things they cannot control. They may also find themselves struggling with their speech or find themselves unable to speak at all - like in some cases of stuttering.

6. Ajna Chakra

The chakras are the endocrine system of the spiritual body. The word ‘chakra’ means ‘wheel’ in Sanskrit, this is because the spinning disks are like a spinning wheel of energy, these energy vortices govern many aspects of our physical and mental life.

The Ajna Chakra is also known as the third eye chakra, it deals with intuition and wisdom. It is located between your eyebrows at the center of your forehead.

7. Sahasrara Chakra

Sahasrara Chakra is the crown of the spiritual body. It is situated at the top of the head. In other words, it is found on top of all 7 chakras. It is considered to be the most important and final chakra. Sahasrara Chakra has been described as being bright and effulgent with a thousand petals that are closed or barely open. The color associated with this chakra is violet. The word "Sahasrara" means "thousandfold". This chakra is related to cosmic awareness and higher knowledge.

It's considered to be the most important of all seven chakras because it opens up one to enlightenment and liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth.
