Whether you are an atheist or agnostic or believer, one can't deny the presence of a supernatural power guiding and saving us from all the dangerous evils. Going divine is one of the way to help us reach God. But when one reaches a spiritual enlightenment and awareness, he no longer needs the pathway of religion, culture or literature.

1. Service to Mankind is service to God

One of the best ways to reach god is to take care of your ailing fellow citizen. Serve your fellowmen as possible as you can. Then you will definitely find God in them.

2. An awareness of God is within and everywhere

Saint Kabir Das, in one of his doha says, which I will paraphrase as I understood, that god is present in every human, so I respected and helped them much and soon I realized that he is within me too. So, once you understand that, you will never self harm.

3. Meditate your way to God

Meditation is not just to help you gain your focus back and relieve your stress. It is a very great way of self-realization and it takes us to the concept of Jeevatma & Paramatma. We people are a part of the  God &once we find him within, we will reach our way to God in this world filled with Maya.

4. Get a great Guru to understand God better

Again, Saint Kabir Das comes to my mind, who says, if his teacher and God both stood before him, he would really fall at his gurus feet who made it easy for him to reach to God in this world filled with Maya. Its time to attain spitual discourses to widen your horizon of understanding the world.

5. Surrender to God

Do you remember the story of Draupati's saranagati from Mahabharata? Well, let me repeat, it is human nature to believe that we can do everything. We want things to happen our way. But what we need to understand is that god is there to save us only if we fully believe and surrender to him. Like Draupati during her vastra being removed, held saree twice while calling for help and third time, let go of saree and there came Lord Krishna to help her.

6. Be open minded and let god in

Once you find god within, your journey never stops and there is a long journey to come. Once God comes to it, it might be startling to our human mind which is wary of things unaware. Allow god to come to you and be open minded. Accept all, love all and live well.
