The Modern Day Enlightened Guru
J Krishnamurti is one of highly admired and loved modern day spiritual Guru. J Krishnamurthi states that an observer shouldn't be aware of the fact that he is an observer but to observe with no motive, no purpose, no distortion just to observe; Only then the observer will see the beauty hidden and see the things as the way it is and also it'll reveal the totality of our consciousness where we're covered with our content, hurt, greed, envy, happiness, beliefs, ideologies, present, past, scientific, and so on. We should observe without any thoughts because thought will rule consciousness, says Krishnamurthi. Thought does nothing but judge the observation which interferes with the originality; Thought can have its place in technologies but can't in the psychology of humans, when it does confusion begins and the struggle grows, says Krishnamurthi. He also describes art will be nothing if it's not in its right place, to put everything in its right place that's art, art wouldn't be possible if you can't observe. Can we observe our consciousness, does it reveal it's content not bit by bit but the totality of movement then only it's possible to go beyond it says Krishnamurthi. He doesn't want it to be through analysis because it's only from analyzer and the analysed.
Can we observe without any movement in the eye; We can't because the eye has an effect on the brain but when we keep it still, observation is very much clear. He's mentioning that the brain is quietened. He illustrates this with an example:- A student is in search of life's dogma thus he approached his guru the guru told the student to be with him, fifteen years passed the student learned nothing so the guru suggests him to be with another guru five years passed when he met his last guru the student tells him that he learnt to walk in the river with no boat or vessel the guru retorted you can do that for twopence if you take that boat right? By this we should understand the approach of gurus. We should learn to observe without the observer; it is possible only when the observer realises that he is observed.
There's no division between the observer and observed. That's the basic reality; The reality which thought has made is nothing but an illusion built by our judgement, it's only a reality of our thought, concludes his speech with a round of applause from the listeners.
