History:
Once upon a time, the temple was surrounded by Holy Basil(thulasi plants). Some of the temple works are done by Chola kings and pallava kings.
The great leagends like Vivekanadhar and Mathematician Ramanujam visited and worshipped this temple.
Parthasarathy temple was one among the 108 Thirupathies, The Lord Parthasarathy was 9Feet Height with Beard. This is the only temple the god with beard.
The God "Yoganarasimhar" situated behind the Main God Parthasarathy. Daily pooja's are first to Yoganarasimhar and then to Parthasarathy.
There is no bell for Yoganasasimhar because he was in Yoga. The opposite side wall consists 4000 divyaprabhandham and 108 divyadesams.
