Sri Rajakaliamman:

Sri Rajakaliamman temple is dedicated to Mother Kali,the protector.The temple is the only glass temple and the first glass temple in Malaysia.This temple is situated in Jalan Tebrau in Johor Bahru state.It is also a first glass temple of its kind in the world.This temple is not only a boon to Hindu devotees but also a major tourist attraction of Malaysia.

Temple History and Overview:

In the year 1922 the temple was built with simple shelter on land awarded by Sultan of Johor.In 1991,Sri Sinnathamby Sivasamy also known as Guru Bhagawan Sittar inherited the administration of temple from his father.The temple was rebuilt and reopened officially in 1996.Idea to build a glass temple was derived from Guru's trip to Bangkok.When he travelled in a 'tuk-tuk' (autorickshaw) noticed a shimmering from two kilometers.The driver of the rickshaw told that it was a 'watt'(temple).Guru was amazed by the glass work done on some parts of the temple.Temple's ceiling,walls,pillars and domes are adorned with more than one million pieces of colourful glasses.Motifs and symbols like Swastika,Namam and SriChakra were created from glass work in seven colors. This temple is dedicated to Mother Kali not only to attract local people but also people from all over the world to get the bliss of Mother Kali.

• Around 3,00,0000 Ruthraksha Beads are attached on walls in Lord Shiva's shrine imported from Nepal.Devotees are allowed to perform abishegam on their own and offer prayers to Lord Shiva.
• Eight white marble statues of guru and saints at pillars.The statues found are Bhagavan sri Ramakrishna,Swami Vivekanada,Sathya Sai Baba,Swami Vivekananda,Sirdi Baba,Ragavendra swamigal,Ramalinga Adigalar,Jesus Christ and Gauthama Buddha.The statues are placed at the temple with the concept that guru is important to everyone and all of them are equally same as messenger of goal.
• Marble statue of Divine Mother Kali is 12 feet tall.This the tallest marble statue in Malaysia.
• Also circle of life statue indicates various stages in life which are birth,growth,reproduction and death.The ultimate purpose is to serve god.
• The other deities are Vinayagar,Murugan,Perumal,Periyachiamman.Also Panchaloha statue of Thillai Kali and Dhatatriya for performing full moon day prayers.
• Chariot coated with glass is also found in the temple.
