Unlike most of the temples, the diety here gets alangaram or makeover 6 times a day in various forms. At the morning it begins with the Sanniyasi Alangaram , where the deity is dressed as a saint or ascetic. Vedan Alangaram or the hunter is how the deity gets dressed next. In an hour, the makeover is changed to be Balasubramaniar, which is the roopa of a child. Vaitheekal Alangaram is next followed by Raja Alangaram. Raja alangaram is said to be the most auspicious to look at. In fact, many devotees prefer worshipping the lord in this pose, when He is dressed as a King. Many also believe that when the Swamy is dressed as an Aandi, which is the pose of Dhandayudhapany or the Balasubramaniar, where the Lord holds a stick and wears only linen, one has to stay and worship as the King before leaving.
