About Varadharaja Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is located at Kanchipuram, Tamilnadu, India. It is believed that 12 Saint’s or Alwars have visited the Holy City. It is said that Vaishnava, Ramanuja have lived there. The Devotees believed that Ekambareswarar Temple, Kanchi Kamakshi Amman Temple, Tirupati Malai Kovil, Kanchipuram Varadarajan Perumal Temple is for sacred Vaishnavites. They believed that visiting these places without break might get a place at Paramapadham. This temple is recently in the new because of Lord Athivarathar/Athivaradhar when he brought out to worship after forty years. People from all over the world thronged to this temple to seek his blessings.


Architectural Style 

Dravidian Architecture. It is the greatest inspiration of Chola and Vijayanagara kingdoms. 


History 

The Temple is been built around 23 acres complex. Varadharaja Perumal Temple was innovated by Chola, it was expanded by Kulotunga Chola I and Vikrama Chola. When Muhal invaded the image of Deity sent to Udayarpalayam in Tiruchirapalli District. A British man named Robert Clive who visited the Temple presented a valuable Necklace which was celebrated every year as Festival. But now, it is protected by Tamilnadu Archeological Department. All the more it is considered to be Divya Desams.

Festivals | Important Days 

Pongal, Deepavali, Aadi Velli, Navaratri Rama Navami, Adhyayana Utsavam, Chithra Pournami, are some of the Festivals at Varada Temple. Festival during May and June where large types of umbrellas used during festivals. Thousands of people gather together to seek the honour and blessings of Lora who Comes to Garuda Vaganam. Next famous festival will be for Athi Varadar, an original Deity which is carved with the help of a fig tree and there it was kept under chamber inside the Temple. The festival happens once in 40 years for 48 days for people to Darshan. Tamilnadu government will arrange for special poojas and there will be many special transportation facilities will be done. The next Varadharaja Perumal Festival will be held in 2059.
