Devi Karumariyamman Temple History & Specialties

·       Devi Karumariyaman temple is one of the famous Durga Temple entirely dedicated to the Divine mother Shakthi as Karumariyaman. Devi Karumariyaman temple has its main goddess as Karumariyamman. This temple is situated at Thiruvadisoolam Village in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu.

·       At present, the temple is under construction, the Devi Karumariyamman statue is 51 feet high, it makes the Devi appear in her Viswaroopa form. For now, the worship of Devi is done at an adjacent temple named Balalayam.

·       This Amman is said to be unique with sitting posture and with 10 tens among which two hands are in Abhaya and Hastham. This Amman is considered to be very powerful in nature.

·       Another uniqueness of this temple is that there are 108 statues of Lord Perumal in a single place that adores the devotees. People are very fond of visiting this temple for its uniqueness.

·       The Karumariyamman is to be made of a single monolithic granite stone which weighs around 800 tons are brought from a village named Siruthamur, Pattakonavadai Village

Devi Karumariyamman temple is present at Thiruvadisoolam which is located at Chengalpattu – Thiruporur road. There’s a lot of buses from Chengalpattu to Thiruvadisoolam as it is around 7 km from Chengalpattu. There’s a lot of signboards from the bus stops towards the temple. It is around 2kms from the bus stop. There’s no availability of autos at Thiruvadisoolam, therefore, if you can’t walk for 2 km it’s better to start with an auto or cab from Chengalpattu itself.

·       The nearest railway station is Chengalpattu railway station.

·       The nearest airport is Chennai airport.
