Devi. The Amman / Thayar of this temple is also Seethala Devi.
· Sheetala means coolness in Sanskrit and no heat
effects.
· It is believed that 64 kinds of heat diseases are
cured by Seethala Devi with her virgin power that destroys and restores health for
her devotees.
· Sri Seethala Devi temple is an ancient temple that
ages about 500 years old located at Madipakkam, Chennai district, Tamil Nadu.
Festivals Celebrated in Sri Seethala Devi Temple
Every day devotional puja take place with devotees actively participating
in it. Seethala Devi Mother is always graceful and cool. Fridays of Aadi month (July
– August) are celebrated. Thai month (January – February) is also celebrated
grandly. Full moon days are celebrated with festive poojas.
Prayers and Thanks Giving by the Devotees
People and devotees pray for a disease-free and healthy life for the
mother. Pregnant women pray that they shouldn’t face any difficulty during the

The temple generally opens at 06.00 AM in the morning
and closes at 10.00 AM. And reopens at 05.00 PM and completely closes by 08.00 PM.
