Thirumanancheri | Thirumananjeri Temple

  The Thirumanancheri temple, which is located in the district of Nagapattinam, is one of the most famous Shiva temples. It is located near the Cauvery river. 

'Thirumanam' refers to marriage; and 'Cheri' refers to village. Here, Lord Shiva is being worshipped as Kalyanasundareswarar, and it is believed that the Almighty married powerful Parvathi devi here. 

This temple is known to be removing all the obstacles of marriage. Those who are facing hurdles in getting married or finding a suitable partner, are made to do a special pooja, which will bless them with a happy life, thereafter. Once their wish of finding a suitable partner becomes successful, the couple must then come here, and distribute prasadam,  to all the devotees who come to the temple.

Morning 6.30 - Noon 1.30
Evening 3.30 - 8.30

The temple has special pooja, for those who have difficulties in their marriage. 


How To Reach

Trains are available to Mayiladuthurai Junction/ Kumbakonam Junction. 

Buses are available to Thirumanencheri from Chennai, Pondichery and also from Kuttalam and Mayiladuthurai.
