Thiruvenkadamudaiyan - ThenTirupati:
ThenTiruppatti Thiruvenkadamudaiyan temple is 100 years old.This magnificient temple is situated at Ariyakudi (Rareland), 4 kms from Karaikudi and 15 kms from Pillayarpatti temple.Lord Vishnu graces here as 'Arulmigu Thiruvenkadamudaiyan' and the Thayar gracing here is called 'Alamelu Mangai'.This temple was build by Nattukottai Nagarathar community.The feet of Lord Vishnu(Sadari) was brought from Tiruppatti and Fire(Agni) from Tirumayam to the start the work of the temple.So called the name of the place is 'Ariyakudi' and 'ThenTiupati'(South Tiruppatti).
History:
This place is said to be famous place for Vaishnavas which was established by the Nattukottai Nagarathars.Once there was a sincere devotee of Lord Vishnu called Sevugan Chettiyar was living.Those who visit him had a habit of placing their contribution to him. Sevugan Chettiyar accumulates those contributions and carry them to Tirupathi temple by walk each year.He grew old.One day while walking to Tiruppatti he fainted and fell down on the way.Lord Vishnu appeared before him and told his devotee that he would come to his place. Also told Sevuga Chettiyar to go towards west. Chettiyar found the place with Tulsi plant and Coconut shell.This the place where the temple is now situated.When devotees started the work of the temple founded the presiding deity's idol here.
Overview:
The temple looks so beautiful with colourful images.One can see the "Moolai Garuda" in the corner with vimana.It is a small shrine gracing here is most significant feature of the temple.Puja for Garuda on Swati star is observed every month and a special puja is performed for Garuda on Mahaswati ,the birthday of Garuda in the month of Aadi(July-August).One cannot miss the Palliarai of the temple as it attracts with lot of colourful images.Famous saying about this temple is One can be relieved from "Mukkala Vinai" by worshipping Moola Garuda. Also Golden Garuda is found in this temple looks so graceful. Garuda here graces with two lions on each side is significant.The offerings and contributions to Tiruppatti can be made here.

Tirumanjanam for Perumal and Thayar is offered.To get success and good health,devotees do angapradhakshana every saturday. Archana for Chakarathazhvar gives peace of mind and courage to devotees.It is believed,one who do archana for Lord Vishnu and Alamelu Mangai on friday for twelve weeks gets good job of their choice.Also Child boon,relieve from diseases are blessed by this presiding deity.Obstacles in marriage for girls are relieved by worshipping Lord Thiruvenkadamudaiyan and Mother Alamelu Mangai .Thirteen days Utsav in the month of Vaikasi(june) is celebrated grandly.Purattasi month Utsav is also celebrated here.
