Here Ganesha Idol is portrayed as cricketer. The founder of the temple, Ramakrsihnan has said in an interview that "Once when he prayed to Lord Ganesha for the win of Indian team during India vs Australia match. As a result India not only won the match but baious records are created." And hence he named this temple as Cricket Pillayar Temple.
