History:
Once, there used to be an insane man who roamed around the temple. The devotees were afraid of him. One night lord Shiva appeared in the dream of a person belonging to a Nair clan and asked to do the following: The mad person had to be tied overnight in the temple and the next day a new plant will sprout out in the temple. The juice of the plant has to be mixed with cow’s milk and to be given to the mad person. And this was done as per the dream. The mad person began to vomit and the undigested food i.e. the kai-visham was thrown up and he became alright. Thus the tradition is followed.Who should visit the temple?
