·       The Moolavar of Sri Theerthapureeswarar Temple is Theerthapureeswarar also known as Anandeeswarar.

·       Lord Shiva is the swayambumurthy in this temple. The Amman / Thayar of Sri Theerthapureeswarar Temple is Tiripurasundari.

·        The Thala Virutcham of Sri Theerthapureeswarar Temple is Banyan Tree and the Theertham offered in this temple is Neela Malar Poigai and Vada Vellaru.

·       In the sanctum sanctorum there exists an entrance on the left which is known as the Magam Vasal. There is a river on the side in which women who lost their husbands bathe thereafter one year of their loss. They enter the temple and return through the same after worshipping the Lord.

·       Sri Theerthapureeswarar Temple is a very ancient temple located at Tiruvattathurai, Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu.

·       Maha Shivratri is celebrated in months February – March. Margazhi Tiruvadhirai is celebrated from December – January.

·       Panguni Uthiram is celebrated in the months March – April. Devotees participate with immense devotion during these festivals.

Lord appeared in these places to help devotees clear their sins. The river is situated at the south of the temple. On Thittakudi road, the place is 22 km far from Vruddhachalam. Devotees should get down at the Kedilam bus stop.
