Subramanya Swamy Temple: 

Subramanya Swamy Temple, committed to Lord Murugan situated at Vallimalai in Vellore District of Tamilnadu. Vallimalai is considered as the origin of Valli, one of the two consorts of Lord Muruga. The staggering excellence of Valli Malai with its pools, new plant life, caves, and strange stone arrangements remains as a quiet declaration to the proceeding with the presence of the consistently energetic Goddess herself. During the Pallava tradition's system, they assembled the Subramaniyar temple, a stone slice shrine committed to Murugan.


The Presiding Deities are God Subramaniaswami and Goddess Valli. This temple is adorned with the significance of having Sthala Vriksham - Vengai and Theertham(Holy water) - Saravana Poigai. This temple at Vallimalai is related with vivid legends and it has been referred to by the Thiruppugazh verses of Arunagiri Nathar. 



Sthala Purana :

Maha Visnu's daughters were Sundaravalli and Amirtavalli. The two of them wanted a spouse who never gets angry. They performed penance and Lord Muruga showed up before them. The two of them wished to wed him. He said that Amirtavalli would be born as Tevayanai, the little girl of Indra and Sundaravalli would be born to Veddas as Valli and afterward, he would wed them both.

After annihilating Surapadma, Lord Muruga reestablished the Indra Loka to Indra. As a blessing, Indra gave his girl Devayanai to Lord Murugan in wedlock. Valli was born on Valli Malai and raised by Vedda King Nambi Raj. Valli and Lord Muruga played a lot of leelas for almost twelve years and were eventually wedded. This hillock where Valli took birth hence gets the name Valli Malai. 





This temple is a stone-cut slope sanctuary, which is arranged on the slants of Javadhu Hills, on the banks of River Palar. Devotees can reach the temple by climbing a trip of 309 steps. The steps were built by Kirupananda Variyar.



Significance:

Valli Malai is the abode of Siddhars and spirituality. Even now, one can hear and feel the vibrations of OM on the way to the temple and around the hills.

There is another way to reach down and part of the way through that, there are caves where Jain holy people remained and Jain Sculpture are available in the stones which are additionally being kept up with by ASI.
