Haridwar - The Holy City:

Maa Mansa Devi Mandir - Chronicle:
Mansa Devi Temple is dedicated to goddess Mansa Devi in Haridwar, Uttarakhand state in India. The temple is located at the top of Bilwa Parvat on the Shivalik hills, the southernmost mountains of the Himalayas. The term MANSA means DESIRE and it is believed promisingly that the goddess fulfils all the wishes of her devotees. Mansa is regarded as the sister of Naga (serpent)Vasuki. Once, Mansa, a common girl who was unaware about her complete truth from her guardians decided to meet Lord Shiva and ask him about her truth. To meet Lord Shiva, she sat for Sadhana and after years of spiritual exercise, she got the fortune to meet Lord Shiva and clarify her truth from him. After learning her truth, she attained the powers of goddess of welfare for the world.
The Temple and the Rope-Way:
To reach the temple there are two-way services provided – on foot or the rope way service. The ropeway service is termed as “Mansa Devi Udan Khatola”. The rope service even provides a good transport service to the nearby Chandi Devi temple. The total length of the ropeway is 540 metres and the height it covers is 178 metres.
In favour of its location, the temple offers a peaceful amalgamation of both spiritual and natural beauty. Mansa Devi is well known as the goddess of Snakes and she mainly worshipped in Bengal, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand. The temple is attractive for its stunning views and is home to 2 of the finest statues dedicated to Durga. One of the statues has 3 mouths with 5 arms and the other one with 8 arms. So, a visit to this temple can be a great blended experience of spiritually and adventure.

The temple usually opens at 5 am in the morning and closes at 9 pm on all days.
