Reaching Tungnath Temple is an adventure in itself. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, approximately 232 kilometres away. From there, one can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Rudraprayag. From Rudraprayag, Tungnath is about 60 kilometres away. The nearest railway station is in Rishikesh, about 209 kilometres from the temple. From Rishikesh, one can take a bus or hire a taxi to reach Rudraprayag.

For those who prefer the scenic route, trekking is the best option. The trek to Tungnath Temple starts from Chopta, which is around 3.5 kilometres away. Chopta is well-connected by road to major cities like Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun. The trek is relatively easy and can be completed in around 3-4 hours, offering mesmerising views of the Himalayan peaks along the way.

Timings of the Temple:

Tungnath Temple remains open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM every day. The best time to visit the temple is during the summer months, from April to November, when the weather is pleasant and the trekking route is accessible. During the winter months, the temple is covered in snow, and the trekking route becomes difficult.
