Perur Patteeswarar Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to the supreme God Lord Shiva,located in perur about 6 kilometers from Noyyal river in the Coimbatore district. This temple was built by Palayakarars under the reign of the great Raja Raja Cholan.
Lord Shiva is worshiped as Patteeswarar. Goodess Parvati, consort of Lord Shiva is worshipped as Pachainayaki.

History Of The Temple | Specialties
- The temple was sung by eminent poets like Arunagiri Nathar and Kuchiappa Munivar.
- The foot print scar of divine cow Kamadenu is appeared to be on the head of Shivalinga.
- A special tamarind tress temple called as Piravapuli which means that the tree's seeds will not germinate wherever sown. You can find no worms in the cow dungs near the surrounding areas.
- Lord Nataraja, who normally appears in all temples with an active dance posture.
- But the difference in this temple is that Lord Shiva appears with legs pointing downwards which represents end of the performance.
- You can see separate shrines for Lord Aiyappan, Maha Ganapathi, Kayilainathar, Puttru Lakshminarayanan and Kavalrayan.
