Montreal Thiru Murugan Temple

Montreal Thiru Murugan Temple is the first Saivite Temple in the Province of Quebec in Canada. Temple is registered as non-profitable organisation and it is Administrated by SAIVA MISSION OF QUEBEC in Canada at 1983. Devotees of Saivism are cordially invited for the Temple opening ceremony (Kumbabishekam).

History of the Temple

• In 1985, at first weekly association has started with few tamil speaking devotees communities in Montreal. Lord muruga followed the Saiva Agamas and Sitpa (sculpture) Sastras.
• In 1991, Hundreds of devotees raised CAN $135,000 for the temple development fund.
• In 1992, With blessing of Lord Subramanya Sammy with the dollar of CAN 1,35,000 in hand devotees brought two acres in rate of CAN 4,50,000. In 1995, Inauguration of new Temple Ceremony of lord Muruga at 1611 St-Regis Blvd, DDO is held. 
• In 1996, Sri Durgai Amman deity has built and consecration ceremony 25th August held.From that Chariot festival and Holy dip has been following still in the temple.
• 2002-2003 Major sculpture portion are been finished by Tamilnadu Artisans. The Temple has 51Ft of Raja Gopuram (tower) with five levels. And in the Main Atar Lord Murugan is sitting with 31 ft vimanam with maha mandapam.
• Finally in 2006, With the blessing and by the grace of Subramanyan the temple Ritual Inauguration and consecration ceremony of Montreal Thiru Murugan Temple has be set to the place.
