Siddhas And God Worship
Siddhas considered their bodies as temples and their souls as God. When people die, their bodies get decayed. Human body is not consistent. So, according to Siddhas, one should get involved in spirituality and divinity, with the help of his body which is instable. Siddhas are enlightened souls, who nurtured their spirituality inside their body and souls.
Siddhas categorized worship into the following:
· Sariyai(சரியை)
· Kiriyai(கிà®°ியை)
· Yogam(யோகம்)
· Dhiyanam(தியானம்)
SARIYAI:
This is called as ‘Meithondu’. The devotees follow this type of worship at the initial stage of their travel to reach divinity. The people serve the God through physical deeds. They think themselves as slaves of God and serve to the supreme power. Thirunavukarasar is the best example of this type of devotee.
KIRIYAI:
It is the stage next to Sariyai. This type of devotion involves action. This is following some framed patterns of worship, such as applying Vibhoodhi. These devotees consider themselves as the children of God. They worship God in forms such as sculpture ,painting, etc. Thirunyana Sambandhar’s devotion belongs to Kiriyai.
YOGAM:
Yogam is the third stage of worshipping God. The devotees understand the incredible lifestyle called ‘Yogasana’ ,follow it and reach the divine power. They consider themselves as a friend of God and worship accordingly. Sundharar is a Nayanmar who follows this type of devotion to feel the supreme power.
DHIYANAM:
This is the final stage of worship. The advanced state of Yogam is Dyanam. These devotees think that the soul reason of everything is God and this is called ‘Sanmaarkam’. They surrender themselves to Shiva and feel that the eternal power, Shivam, resides within themselves. Manikavasagar is an example of this type of devotee.
According to Siddhas, People may take up any pattern of worship, but their body and soul must get aligned with the supreme soul and involve in devotion.
