Abayambikai Sathagam | Abayambikai Pattar Story | 100 verses of Abayambigai

Devi Abayambikai & Abayambikai Pattar :

Over 200 years ago, Abayambigai Pattar, originally named Krishnaswami Iyer, was born in a brahmin family, in the place of Nallathukudi which is a neighboring village of Mayiladuthurai previously called Maayuram. He lost his parents in his early childhood. He got even more depressed when he lost his Mother. At a very young age, even without realizing his Mother's Demise, he used to cry for his mother in hunger. One such time, Sri Abayambikai Amman, the Goddess herself, appeared to him as a normal brahmin Mother and fed him food in the Golden Bowl, and stopped his crying by consoling him. This incident was repeated one more time when he cried for food and similarly Goddess appeared and fed him food. Then, she brought him to the sanctum of her temple and she disappeared. Since then he started worshipping Goddess Abayambikai daily by Visiting Mayuranatha Swamy Temple and been in the temple till the Arthayama Pooja(last ritual)  and returning back late at night to Nalathukudi was his habit.

Wonders of Abayambikai

One day while returning home after completing the nightly ritual to the Goddess, he got hit in the stone by mistake as there was no light and he got wounded. When he cried in pain, Goddess came with a lamp and guided him to his home with light and also she cured his wound. Since then, whenever he is returning, a lamp(without any support) had followed him, to his home to show him the path.

On seeing all these miracles, he was saddened as he couldn't repay Goddess through any means. On listening to his Woe, Goddess in heavenly voice asked him to  "to compose and sing a poem for her". Pattar was shocked and worried about his illiteracy and asked How he can do this being Illiterate! Goddess replied to him not to worry and she gave him the knowledge to compose the same. With her superior blessings and As per the goddess's desire, he has phrased the 100 verses of Abayambikai and named it as "Abayambikai Sathayam".By his release of this holy work, he named Abayambikai Pattar.

There were so many miracles conducted by Goddess Abayambikai to Krishnasamy Iyer. One fine day, after completing the last ritual (Arthayama Pooja), and by applying the Vibuthi of Abayambikai he went in thin air before the sanctum of Goddess Abayambikai.

It is believed that The devotees whoever reciting the Abayambikai Sathagam will get her absolute blessings and will revive from all their problems
