Sri Balasubramaniar Temple History and Special Features

·       The Moolavar of Sri Balasubramaniar Temple is Balasubramaniar and the Urchavar of the temple is Subramaniar. The Amman / Thayar of the temple is Valli and Deivanai.

·       The Theertham offered in Sri Balasubramaniar Temple is Vasishta Theertham and the Agamam / Pooja performed is Kameekam.

·       In Sri Balasubramaniar Temple, Lord Murugar gives his appearance in three form which represents the Varnasrama rules. He appears to be a smiling child in the sanctum sanctorum, appears as a family head along with his consorts Valli and Deivanai and as an ascetic as Dandayuthapani. These poses are very rare postures of the Lord Muruga in Sri Balasubramaniar Temple alone.

·       Sri Balasubramaniar Temple is a very ancient temple it is 500 – 1000 years old located at Vadachennimalai, Salem district, Tamil Nadu.

·       Skanda Sashti is celebrated during October – November. Tirukarthikai is celebrated during the months November and December.

·       Thai Poosam is grandly celebrated during the period of January – February.
