Narasimhavathaaram by Lord Vishnu was taken to obliterate the asura Hiranyan, who was loaded up with haughtiness broadcasting himself as God. Asura samharam was finished. However, Narasimha's annoyance didn't lessen. The Universe couldn't bear His annoyance. The devas appealed to Lord Shiva. To conciliate Narasimha's resentment, Lord Shiva expected the type of a bird Sarabha. This structure involves the types of a creature, human and bird – the substance of a yali, human body, and the type of a bird. The type of Narasimha comprised of a human body and the essence of a lion. Master Sarabeswara lifted Narasimha to space, drew out the asura blood (Hiranyan's) and placated him. Thus, Lord Sarabeswara took Narasimha over the universe to prevent his blood from falling on earth. The avatar of Sarabeswara involves four Gods – Shiva, Kaali, Durga, and Vishnu.
Architecture :
The 1000-year old sanctuary has been worked by Kulothunga Chola III according to Chola style. We enter through east gopuram. Ruler Vinayaka invites us! Passing by kodimaram, a special raised area, and Nandi, we discover Kambahareswarar sannidhi. He eased Varaguna Pandian of his misgivings and Brahmahathi dosham. His partner Dharmasamvardini has a different sanctuary. The design of the sanctuaries of those occasions is astounding. During downpours and floods, individuals took cover in these sanctuaries. The temple has 2 gopurams and 3 sthoobhis. Its theertham is Saraba theertham and its sthalavirutcham is Vilva Tree.
