Sri Agatheeswarar Temple | Pozhichalur Shiva Temple | North Thirunallar | Navagraha Sthalam

Arulmigu Agastheeswarar Temple :

Sri Agastheeswarar Temple, especially devoted to Planet Saturn(one of the Navagrahas) is located in Pozhichalur, a small panchayat in Pallavaram town, Chennai. This temple in Tamil Nadu is called Agastheeswarar Temple as Sage Agasthiyar is said to have worshipped Shiva here on his way back from the Himalayas.

The temple cherishes Agastheeswarar as the presiding god alongside his heavenly associate Anandavalli. The sanctum of the Lord points toward the east and that of his goddess points toward the south. Despite the fact that the Agastheeswarar Temple doesn't match the loftiness of the old Chola sanctuaries, the design style signifies that the shrine has a place in the twelfth century. The style of development with the Gaja-Brashta-Vimana (looking like the statue of an elephant's behind) and the stone engraving remains as a declaration of this reality. The most vital element of the holy place is that the temple has an altar devoted to Lord Sani; the sanctum of Sani is viewed as close to that of Thirunallar. Generally, every one of the temples visited by Sage Agastya is known as Agastheeswaram

Sri Sani Bhagavan is called Mangala Saneeswarar and by venerating him, the entirety of our issues would be resolved, and we would get incredible harmony and flourish in our life. This spot is likewise called 'Vada Thirunallaaru' and the people who can't visit Sri Saneeswara Bhagavan at Thirunallaru Temple can visit this temple and can be graced by the Lord.

Sri Sani Bhagavan is having a different place of worship in this temple. There is likewise a different sanctum for Sri Kala Bhairava. Kala Bhairava shields us from our adversaries and eliminates the illnesses, dark sorcery, and evil spirits from our bodies. This temple had been redesigned by the Chola Kings. Lord Ganesha and Lord Anjaneyar's idols are found in this temple.

The Theertham of this sanctuary is called 'Sani Theertham' which is found close by the temple.
